Semiconductor manufacturing: Equipment

We develop new flow line theories and apply them to the modeling and optimization of semiconductor mfg equipment. Our goals are to increase throughput and reduce cycle time.

Semiconductor manufacturing: PM optimization

Preventive maintenance (PM) is essential to maintain healthy production equipment. However, it is a key source of manufacturing variation. We explore new directions in the planning and optimization of PMs to improve cycle time.

Systems of UAVs

Systems of many unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have the potential to supplement border patrol, search & rescue and security escort services. We develop algorithms to orchestrate the actions of large systems of UAVs efficiently.

Design for Service and the Environment

We apply Axiomatic Design in the context of services (e.g., education, medical service) and the environment. Using design thinking, we explore new ways to improve designs for these applications. We extended the Axiomatic Design methodology to include environmental factors: eAD+.
