[One Common Undergraduate Program and Two Graduate Programs]
The department of Industrial & Systems Engineering has an undergraduate program and two graduate programs: Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISysE) and Knowledge Service Engineering (KSE). As of 2016, the Graduate School of Knowledge Service Engineering has joined the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering as a specialized graduate program to realize its strong vision for innovating knowledge service industries.

Undergraduate Program
The aims of the program are to educate students to be capable practitioners of industrial & systems engineering as well as to prepare students for more in-depth studies in the graduate program. The courses are classified into industrial management, manufacturing systems, service systems, human-centered systems design, operations research, applied statistics, and information technology.
After taking preliminary coursesin mathematics and engineering in their freshman year, students are expected to master fundamental tools in ISysE such as probability and statistics, operations research, and computer programming. With this background, additional studies in application domain areas such as production systems, service systems, quality control, manufacturing, man-machine systems, telecommunications and service industries are pursued. Internship opportunities from various industries are offered to undergraduate students during the summer vacation period. Opportunities to design, synthesize, and analyze large-scale complex systems in both the private and public sectors and to discover ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency are emphasized. Students are also encouraged to cultivate a global mindset by participating in exchange programs with foreign universities.
Graduate Programs: ISysE & KSE
The master program focuses on developing a practical skill set for students based on a profound understanding of specific domains as well as enhanced understanding of advanced tools/methodologies in ISysE and KSE. On the other hand, the Ph.D. program emphasizes creative and interdisciplinary research that opens up horizons in new research fields. While research in the graduate program is based on the strong fundamentals built in undergraduate study, the research results from the graduate program are fed into the undergraduate education system as practical case studies
